Smoking

Addiction has psychosocial components (ie, learned cigarette situations) and physical components (this typically manifests itself in more than 80% of smokers in the form of withdrawal symptoms).

The basis of treatment is a psychobehavioral intervention, which can be supplemented by pharmacotherapy to suppress the withdrawal syndrome, and thus to more easily manage this significant lifestyle change.

It is never too late to quit smoking, quitting at any age brings health benefits.
